GOING TO THE POLLS

Following intensive campaigning for the recent elections and by-elections, Green Party members must now decide who will lead, or co-lead, the party. The leader, or co-leaders will be voting members of the Green Party Executive and will be in post for two years. At the same time, the Party will elect the rest of the Executive, who will hold their posts for a year. In addition to the usual Executive positions, Greens will also decide who should fill the new post of Equality and Diversity Co-ordinator.

The nominations opened on 1st July and will close on 31st July. Members are urged to return their completed nomination papers to the Green Party's Head of Office, Jon Nott, by the deadline. To ensure a level playing field, all candidates will be provided with members' contact information to be used in strict accordance with the rules for internal campaigning in the Green Party Executive elections. Members who do not wish to be contacted directly by candidates can opt out of the internal campaign, by contacting the Head of Office by email or in writing (
jon.nott@greenparty.org.uk or Jon Nott, Head of Office, The Green Party, 1A Waterlow Road, London N19 5NJ). If you opt out of internal campaigning, you will still receive a ballot paper and the booklet of candidate statements.

If you have not received them, nomination papers and a copy of the campaign rules are available from Party office by calling 020 7272 4474 or by email from
soc@greenparty.org.uk. The winner, or winners, will be announced at the Green Party Conference in autumn.
