Greens in the region
There is no such thing as a “stand alone” election. With the upcoming Welsh Assembly elections in 2011 and the Unitary Authority elections in 2012, where we have greater chances of success, we will be using the Euros as a hook to raise the profile of our key candidates and the target region: South Wales Central.

Y Blaid Werdd yng Nghymru
Nid oes y fath beth ag etholiad heb fod iddo arwyddocâd ehangach. Mae etholiadau’r Cynulliad Cenedlaethol yn yr arfaeth yn 2011 ac etholiadau’r Awdurdodau Unedol yn 2012, lle y bydd mwy o obaith i ni lwyddo, a byddwn yn defnyddio etholiadau Ewrop fel cyfrwng i godi proffil ein hymgeiswyr allweddol a’n rhanbarth darged: Canol De Cymru.

Campaign Objectives
The Wales region has four Euro seats up for election this year. Currently two are held by Labour, one by the Tories and one by Plaid Cymru. Plaid won the fourth seat with just over 17% of the vote in 2004 and all indications are that the Lib Dems will be pulling out all the stops to strip them of it this year. It is clear, then, that Wales Green Party has a huge mountain to climb if we are to achieve electoral success on June 4. We have set ourselves two targets for the Euro elections; firstly to raise the profile of the target region ahead of the Welsh Assembly elections in 2011, and secondly to save our deposit. Both are eminently achievable.

Ein Gobeithion
Mae pedair sedd Ewropeaidd i’w ymladd yng Nghymru yn etholiadau eleni. Ar hyn o bryd mae dwy ohonynt yn nwylo’r Blaid Lafur, un sedd gan y Ceidwadwyr ac un gan Blaid Cymru. Enillodd Plaid y bedwaredd sedd gydag ychydig dros 17% o’r bleidlais yn 2004 a disgwylir y bydd ymdrech fawr gan y Democratiaid Cymdeithasol i’w chipio ganddynt eleni. Mae’n amlwg felly bod her fawr i’w goresgyn gennym os yw Plaid Werdd Cymru i sicrhau llwyddiant etholiadol ar Fehefin 4. Rydym wedi gosod dau nod ar gyfer etholiadau Ewrop; y cyntaf yw codi proffil y rhanbarth darged cyn cynnal etholiadau’r Cynulliad Cenedlaethol yn 2011, a’r ail yw cadw ein hernes. Gellir yn sicr cyflawni hyn.
